The University of the Third Age, Strathalbyn, is a community-based organisation providing affordable education and leisure activities.
U3A Strathalbyn actively encourages people of any age to join. We have adopted this policy largely to encourage interaction between the generations with a view to promoting understanding and sharing ideas and values. Modern-day segregation has done little to elevate the wisdom of the older generation nor the skill that the younger generation has to share.
Membership is not restricted to residents of the Strathalbyn area.
Classes are offered in a relaxed, informal and inclusive environment and members are encouraged to explore and enjoy the range of courses, social outing and the various special events as they arise.
There are no academic prerequisites or entrance requirements other than your enthusiasm and an interest in lifelong learning. We both support your learning experience and your ability to share your experience and skills for the benefit of the U3A community.
U3A is a world-wide movement of more than fifty years standing and is entirely volunteer-based. We are also affiliated with the University of the Third Age, South Australia, so enjoy the benefit of their advice and support when it comes to your membership and the things that affect our organisation as a whole.
